Civil Aid Service and the Quick Reaction Force of New Territories North (QRF NTN), in conjunction with other government departments, staged a Mountaineering Safety Promotion Day in Tsueng Kwan O on October 18 to promote awareness of mountaineering safety with exhibition booths, stall games and demonstrations.

Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Cheung Tak-keung and Assistant Commissioner (Information Systems) Peter Cornthwaite declared the event open before over 1 000 participants.

The QRF NTN put up exhibition booths and staged performances to promote the messages of country park search and rescue, displayed mountaineering safety measures and equipment and introduced the anti-crime concepts for rural areas. These activities not only enhanced public understanding of mountaineering safety, but also underscored the professionalism of the QRF NTN.
