Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung, Director of Personnel and Training Au Chi-kwong and Director of Police College Paul Lau attended a liaison meeting with Prof Wong Yuk-shan, President of the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), and his senior faculty members on November 25 in a bid to strengthen partnership in police foundation training.

Since 2006, Police College has been co-operating with the OUHK in providing two subjects, psychology and social studies in policing, for police recruits. The meeting provided a good opportunity for the Force and the college management to exchange with OUHK representatives views of the latest developments of police training.

Police College will continue to explore opportunities for credit exemption arrangements with the OUHK and other universities and tertiary institutions to help officers pursue lifelong learning and acquire higher academic qualifications.
