A party of 16 officers from Traffic New Territories North (T NTN), headed by Senior Superintendent Martin Cadman, recently visited their counterparts in Shenzhen and discussed policing strategies, public engagement, communication and use of technologies.

The visit started with a demonstration of a motorcade escort from the Boundary Control Point to the headquarters of the Shenzhen Traffic Police, followed by a display of vehicles, protective gear and other equipment.

The officers then visited the Shenzhen Traffic Police Headquarters, a Command and Control Centre, a Public Engagement Suite and an Intelligence Section. They were impressed with the extensive use of technology in both law enforcement and interaction with the public. At the same time, they shared with their Mainland counterpart's experiences of dealing with the traffic offences that are common on both sides of the boundary. Such sharing would enhance co-operation and liaison.
