A Mr Lam and a Mr Hui from the Mainland called at Marine East Division (MEDIV) on November 13 and presented a tapestry banner to officers of Police Launch (PL) 55 for saving their lives.

On October 23, officers of PL 55 received a report of "Vessel Taking in Water" at an unknown location. The officers immediately mounted a search and found the distressed vessel east of Basalt Island. They battled with a rough sea and eventually took four crewmembers onboard their launch.
