Kowloon East (KE) Region and Crime Wing held the annual Sports Day in Police Sports and Recreation Club on October 23 and 30 respectively to support the promotion of a healthy lifestyle within the Force and enhance communication and teamwork among Force members.


The KE Sports Day drew over 600 officers to compete in tennis, badminton, football, basketball, table tennis, tug-of-war, bowling, lawn bowls, fun games and a cheerleader competition. Following intense contests, Kwun Tong District and Regional Headquarters captured the overall Major and Minor Formation Championships respectively, while Traffic KE clinched the Best Cheerleader title with a colourful performance.


KE Regional Commander Duncan McCosh, Deputy Regional Commander Cheng Shuk-chun and other top brass were on hand to cheer on the officers.


On the Crime Wing Sports Day, about 500 officers from various Crime Wing units pitted against one another in ball games, 1.5-km run, tug-of-war, promotion relay and fun game. During various exciting matches, the athletes showed their athletic talents and displayed good teamwork.


Presenting the trophy for the Overall Champion to Crime Wing Headquarters and Crime Support Group, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) John Ribeiro praised the athletes for coming up with outstanding performances.
