Force members have actively devoted their spare time to volunteer services, earning commendation from many quarters in the community for the Hong Kong Police Volunteer Services Corps (PVSC).


Continuing their volunteer services in 2014, the officers pulled off Merit Award for the Highest Number of Service Hours (Public Sector) at the 2015 Hong Kong Volunteer Award Presentation Ceremony on December 5. The new PVSC convener, Senior Superintendent Johnson Chan, received the award together with secretariat member Station Sergeant Lam Hok-chim and representatives from police volunteer teams - Police Civilian Staff Club (PCSC), Galaxy Police Volunteers and Lok Ma Chau Police Volunteer Team.


In 2014, Police volunteers contributed a total of 87 335 hours of volunteer services in different activities. The PCSC topped the other volunteer teams with 10 984 hours.
