Eastern District (EDIST) continues to extend its "Anti-Phone and Online Deception Publicity Campaign" to public housing estates in a bid to disseminate crime prevention messages to more residents.


On November 16, Eastern District Fight Crime Committee Vice-chairman, Mr Leung Chi-kong, two committee members, Mr Tsang Heung-kwan and Mr Wong Chiu-yin, Housing Authority Deputy Housing Manager (Model Estate), Ms Ho Kit-yee, and two Model Estate Mutual Aid Committee chairpersons, Ms Lok Ping-oi and Mr Tsui Chak-ping, joined EDIST Commander Graham Mitchelmore, North Point Divisional Commander Leung Yan-kit, and EDIST Police Community Relations Officer Ku Siu-fai in bringing the anti-telephone deception and anti-online crime campaign to Model Estate, North Point.


Officers from a North Point Division Patrol Sub-unit briefed the estate residents on the crime trend of phone scams and online crimes and introduced police action to tackle the crimes.


After the briefing, two Probation Inspectors, Non-ethnic Chinese fight crime ambassadors, Senior Police Call and Junior Police Call members accompanied all the guests in distributing fliers to estate residents and members of the public.
