With co-ordination made by the Police Licensing Office, a party of 37 guests, including members of the Liquor Licensing Board (LLB) and representatives from other government departments, joined the annual liquor licensing night visit on December 5.

Among the guests were Mrs Cherry Tse, Permanent Secretary for Food and Health, Ms Vivian Lau, Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene, Mr Yau How-boa, Chairman of LLB, LLB members and officers from Fire Services Department, Buildings Department and Environmental Protection Department.

The visit covered a variety of liquor licensed premises in Central and Yau Tsim districts, allowing the external stakeholders to obtain a better understanding of the trade, the latest issues affecting the community and the police's enforcement difficulties. The visit also enabled the guests and frontline commanders to exchange views, in particular for the latter to underline the importance of using a multi-agency approach to handle policing issues.

Finding the visit very useful and informative, Mr Yau, on behalf of all the guests, thanked the Police Licensing Office and police districts for arranging the night visit.
