More than 30 police volunteers and university undergraduates attended a train-the-trainer workshop of Project Youth C.A.N on January 11. Thanking the participants for their attendance, Eastern District Commander Graham Mitchelmore called for a closer partnership between young people and police officers.

A social worker from the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals shared experiences of leading groups, whilst the participants actively took part in a group discussion and question-and-answer session. They raised many questions for which the Project Youth C.A.N Committee provided practical recommendations. For the participants, the workshop provided an insight into group-leading and project planning, helping group leaders lead their groups in community projects.

Project Youth C.A.N covers eight months with three phases, namely Association phase, Appreciation phase and Accomplishment phase. The Association phase has just completed and the Appreciation phase began last month.
