About ninety police officers sustained injuries of various degrees during the riot in Mong Kok on February 9. On February 15, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung visited Sergeant Wong Lok-on again, who was the last officer still requiring hospital care. He was glad that Sergeant Wong had made good progress in recovery.

Once again, Mr Lo praised officers for displaying perseverance, devotion to duties and bravery on that night, particularly an officer from Traffic Kowloon West who remained unflinching in face of the rioters and drew his firearm to protect his fellow officers from further harm.

The Commissioner also expressed his profound gratitude to all other officers for their determination and gallantry to maintain law and order throughout that night.
