'Knowledge Cafe' studies public events

The latest Knowledge Cafe session on "Public Order Event 3-star Tasting Menu" attracted 170 officers at ranks from Police Constable to Assistant Commissioner at Police Headquarters on January 7.

Five experienced speakers - Senior Superintendent Tse Kwok-wai from Operations Hong Kong Island (HKI), Superintendent Young Chi-man from Emergency Unit HKI, Chief Inspector (CIP) Cheung Chi-wai from Central District, CIP Ng Chui-ting from Crime HKI and CIP Wong Chun-yip from Organized Crime and Triad Bureau - shared their valuable experiences of the topic.

The session was divided into three parts, namely "Appetizer" (Letter of No Objection and Appeal Cases Sharing), "Main Course" (Operational Planning and Execution) and "Dessert" (Collection of Evidence, Chain of Evidence and Adducing Evidence in Court).

It was a successful session catering for the needs of the officers at different ranks and giving them a better understanding of the topic from different perspectives. Most of the audience found the speakers' presentations inspiring and practical for their day-to-day duties. Besides theories, the speakers gave a lot of practical examples for illustration. The audience welcomed the session and the coming sessions would address the topical issues in daily policing.
