Among the graduates passing out from Police College on February 6 is Police Constable (PC) Escuro Dean Jason Olino, who is the first Filipino and the fourth member of "Project Gemstone" having made it to Police College.

PC Escuro was a Lantau District Junior Police Call (JPC) member and a Senior Police Call Activity Assistant, before he joined "Project Gemstone" in 2013. By attending the activities of the project, he greatly improved his Chinese language proficiency and made it to Police College as a Recruit PC in August last year. Following his passing-out parade, he was posted to Tsuen Wan District.

Now after work, he requites "Project Gemstone" by helping fellow members brush up their Chinese language and encourages them to join the Force or other government departments.

Yau Tsim District rolled out "Project Gemstone" in 2013 to help the Non-ethnic Chinese JPC members brush up their Chinese language proficiency, integrate into the community or join the Force or other government departments.
