Crime stream officers from Tai Po District (TPDIST) attended a "Cyber Traps" Workshop hosted by the Family and Child Protective Service Unit (Tai Po & North) of Social Welfare Department on January 28, alongside social workers, teachers and the local dignitaries in Tai Po.

Speakers at the workshop included Detective Senior Inspector Law Man-ching from the Regional Crime of New Territories North, Ms Wu Ka-yin, social worker from the Youth Crime Prevention Centre of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, Ms Chan Yin-ni, clinical psychologist, and Mr Lam Chi-ming, Senior Social Work Officer from the Family and Child Protective Service Unit.

The workshop enabled the officers to get a better understanding of the trend of the cyber crime involving youngsters and improved the communication and co-operation among different disciplines to help children and juveniles handle the risk associated with use of social media.
