Happy Valley Division (HVDIV) kicked off another crime prevention initiative, "Defence Alliance" Campaign, with the support of the community of Tai Hang on January 29.


The "Defence Alliance" Campaign comprises three components, namely scaffolding and rear lane databank, building security liaison platform and community safety network for strengthening anti-crime risk management, police-community communication and sharing of information.


Speaking at the launching ceremony of the campaign, Divisional Commander Dennis Cheng told the guests that the campaign aimed at strengthening the co-operation between the police and the community and engaging different sectors of the community in fighting crime. At the ceremony, Mr Cheng presented certificates to 10 members taking part in a community safety network.


Among the guests at the ceremony were Wan Chai District Councillor Clarisse Yeung, a representative of the Tai Hang Resident's Welfare Association, Mr Chan Tak-fai, residents and shopkeepers. Also present were Wan Chai District Police Community Relations Officer Dorothy Nieh and Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) Chris Sin.
