New Territories South (NTS) Region hosted a liaison gathering on March 10 for over 60 community leaders, including members of District Fight Crime Committees, District Councils and Rural Committees, as well as representatives of the aviation, transportation and security sectors.

In his welcoming speech, NTS Regional Commander Lui Hon-kwok recapped the achievements of combating crimes and engaging the community in 2015 and introduced his Regional Action Plan for 2016. He also highlighted the challenges ahead and called on the community leaders to continue to join hands with the police to prevent crimes, especially those involving young people. A video of the work of NTS Region to maintain law and order in the past year was screened, followed by a tea reception during which the participants discussed issues of common concerns.

The participants welcomed the gathering as a good platform to enhance the communication between the community and the police.
