Yuen Long District (YLDIST) has offered a Nepali course again in a bid to enrich frontline officers' knowledge of the Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) community. Besides elementary Nepali, the course also covered Nepali lifestyles, cultures, customs and living situations in Hong Kong, helping frontline officers communicate with the NEC and handle NEC cases more effectively.

Setting an example to frontline officers, Pat Heung Divisional Commander Choy Wai-sum, some inspectors and Auxiliary officers also joined the course, which came to a successful conclusion with a graduation ceremony on March 21.

In the ceremony, Yuen Long Divisional Commander Vasco Williams presented graduation certificates to the participants and called on them to get better equipped in terms of professionalism. In response, the participants indicated that the course had given them more confidence in handling cases involving the NEC.
