Knowledge Cafe # 69 - 'I want to be a Superb NCO (Part I)'


The latest session of Knowledge Cafe on the topic of "I want to be a Superb NCO (Part I)" took place at Police Headquarters on March 17 with experienced officers sharing their expertise and experiences.


The speakers included Criminal Intelligence Bureau Superintendent (SP) Chan Po-lun, who is Chairman of the Station Sergeant (SSGT) Promotion Board 2016/2017, SSGT Leung Kwok-ho from Railway District and SSGT Tsang Chiu-hung from Patrol Sub-unit 4 of Tsing Yi Division. The response to the session was overwhelming with an audience of over 250 officers.


SP Chan, as Board Chairman, talked about his experience of "the knowledge gap of candidates", and shared knowledge on the "Interception of Communications and Surveillance Ordinance", whilst SSGT Leung introduced the responsibilities of a Uniform Branch SSGT. SSGT Tsang spoke of his experience of attending his last promotion interview.


The session served useful purposes as the topic met the needs of Junior Police Officers. Most of the audience found the sharing session useful for their day-to-day jobs. The audience welcomed the session and looked forward to its Part II.
