To combat youth crime, especially school bullying and triad activities in schools, Yuen Long District (YLDIST) held a crime prevention seminar for secondary schools on April 11 with Assistant District Commander (Crime) Chan Siu-ming introducing the common youth crimes, their trend and statistics. He also spoke of his experiences of handling and preventing youth crimes.

Mr Chan also introduced the different projects YLDIST had adopted for engaging young people, such as Junior Police Call, Project SUNSHINE and Project ENCOUNTER, with a view to enhancing communication between the Police and schools. YLDIST hopes that, through the projects, fight crime message would be promoted and young people would be encouraged to steer clear of crime and drugs.
