Led by Lantau District (LTDIST) Commander Alice Lee, about 40 frontline officers of LTDIST attended a workshop on combating incense tree related crime on April 25. The speakers were the Chairperson of the Association for the Ecological and Cultural Conservation of Aquilaria Sinensis, Ms Ho Pui-han, and two consultants of the Association, Professor Paul But of the School of Life Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Ms Cindy Choi. The workshop covered the basic knowledge of incense trees, the location of these trees, the scope of illegal logging and an analysis of the modus operandi in LTDIST.


Through case-sharing and the question-and-answer session, the officers have enhanced their professional knowledge on the subject.
