Kowloon City District Commander Cheung Ching, Kowloon City Division (KCDIV) Commander Fung Wai-ming, and officers of Task Force Sub-unit (TFSU) and Patrol Sub-unit (PSU) 3 of KCDIV attended an appreciation ceremony organised by the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) on April 26 for the officers' swift actions in detecting a number of thefts at its campus.

The Director of Estates of HKBU, Mr Lam Long-chau, presented a pennant and souvenirs to the officers. Mr Lam commended the outstanding performance of the officers, adding that their security team would continue to collaborate with the Force to combat crimes on campus.

On March 16, a theft was reported at the library of HKBU at which a student's computer notebook was stolen. The officers of TFSU KCDIV conducted investigation and arrested a suspect with the stolen property recovered on the same day. The suspect was found to be related to another theft reported at the same location earlier.

Furthermore, the officers of PSU 3 KCDIV arrested a man on March 21 for "loitering with intent to commit an arrestable offence" and "Assault occasioning actual bodily harm" at the campus. After enquiry, the arrested person was suspected to be involved in a number of cases concerning the theft of credit cards from students of both HKBU and the City University of Hong Kong.
