Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) Commander Barry Smith led officers to join an exhibition of the Enhanced Smart Teen Project 2015/16 to support the promotion of animal care among students. About 300 teachers and students attended the event which was organised by the Education Bureau at the Hong Kong Taoist Association The Yuen Yuen Institute No. 3 Secondary School on April 27.

Volunteers from KTDIST and the Rainbow Volunteer Group brought five dogs of Project Animate to interact with the students and promote the importance of animal care. Afterwards 26 students performed a drama to disseminate the message of preventing cruelty to animals.

The Principal of the school, Lee Sai-kee, expressed gratitude to Mr Smith for fostering cross-sectoral co-operation in organising the event, and thanked the Education Bureau, Volunteer Inspectors from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Hong Kong Kennel Club and the Rainbow Volunteer Group for guiding students to lead a positive life.
