The Family Conflict and Sexual Violence Policy Unit (FCSV) and Sham Shui Po District (SSPODIST) jointly arranged 32 members of The Parents' Association of Pre-school Handicapped Children (PAPHC) to visit Sham Shui Po Police Station on June 11 in an attempt to enhance understanding between officers and mentally incapacitated persons (MIPs).

Officers of patrol sub-units, task forces and investigation teams from SSPODIST explained to the participants police procedures such as video-recorded interviews. Uniformed officers staged a demonstration of the stop, question and search procedures to help the participants better understand frontline work. A station tour was conducted to let participants see for themselves various facilities.

Officers from SSPODIST and FCSV interacted with PAPHC's members and their parents to learn more about MIPs' behavioral traits, communication patterns and their needs. The visit enabled the participants to get to know about and build up trust with the Force. The Chairperson of PAPHC expressed gratitude for officers' hospitality.
