Acting Marine Regional Commander Tsui Wai-hung signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Marine Police Boundary Liaison Mechanism (MPBLM) with the Guangdong Border Control Bureau (GD BCB) at its Provincial Headquarters in Guangzhou on June 21.

Following a smooth trial of MPBLM for one year, the signing of the MoU would formalise the point-to-point liaison mechanism between the Marine Police and GD BCB. Mr Tsui stressed that this would enhance bilateral communication and would strengthen the partnership in maritime law enforcement.

Also attending the signing ceremony were Superintendents Lau King-lun and Law Ka-hong, Chief Inspector Ma Kam-woon and Senior Inspectors Mok Ka-hei and Lau Ka-yip. The Force delegation also met Deputy Chief of GD BCB Mr Hou Zibin to exchange views on maritime security and prevalent crime trends as well as explore training opportunities.
