Members of the Sea Defender Scheme of Marine Outer Waters District (MOWDIST) visited the Swire Institute of Marine Science at Cape D'Aguilar Marine Reserve in Shek O on June 28.

The institute was established with a target to conduct research in the conservation of marine resources. Staff of the institute led the scheme members to tour the museum, laboratories, aquariums, experimental ponds and whales fossil specimens.

Commander of MOWDIST Bradley Wright, Training and Staff Relations Officer of MOWDIST Fan Pik-lan, Acting Divisional Commander of Marine West Division Ting Chi-kwok and other attendees all indicated that the visit was an eye-opening experience for them and raised their interest in the conservation of the oceans.
