The closing ceremony of the 18th Eastern District (EDIST) Optimistic View of Life Project was held on June 24. Under the leadership of police volunteers, 40 secondary school students joined a series of training and group activities with a view to building positive values and staying away from crime.


Officiating at the closing ceremony included EDIST Commander Graham Mitchelmore, EDIST Deputy Commander Ip Chi-keung, Chairman of Eastern District Council Mr Wong Kin-pan, Chairman of Eastern District Fight Crime Committee (EDFCC) Mr Leung Chi-kong and person in charge of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Chai Wan Centre Raymond Wen.


With an aim to encouraging young people to adopt a healthy and morally upright lifestyle, the project was launched in 1998 by EDIST, EDFCC and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Chai Wan Centre.
