In a bid to disseminate safe cycling and road safety messages to cyclists and members of the public, Traffic Kowloon West (T KW) staged a Carnival on Safe and Joyful Crossing in Hong Kong on July 9 at the Piazza of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Officiating guests put together a road safety jigsaw to signify the support of people from all walks of life. These officiating guests included Superintendent of Enforcement and Control Division (T KW) Chung Hung-yip, Assistant District Officer (Kowloon City) Miss Tanna Chong, Assistant District Officer (Yau Tsim Mong) Miss Ng Wai-chung, Assistant District Officer (Sham Shui Po) Miss Cheung Yun-chee, Commander of Kowloon West Region of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol.

The carnival featured a variety of activities, such as game booths, a display of police armored vehicles and antique cars as well as performances by the Police Silver Band. Then the Civil Aid Service Cadet Corps performed artistic cycling and explained the tips of safe cycling. Senior Police Call members from the four districts of KW Region also assisted in distributing road safety leaflets to passers-by.
