As the Western District (WDIST) Spring Bud Project entered its 13th year, WDIST Deputy Commander Ho Kai-hin presented letters of appointment to police volunteers of the project at an opening cum appointment ceremony on July 15.

Over the years, WDIST has organised a variety of healthy activities and practical training for youngsters under the Spring Bud Project, with the staunch support of WDIST Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council, TWGHs Jockey Club Lei Tung Integrated Services Centre and Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association, and the active participation of police volunteers. The project helps to inspire the youngsters to develop a positive attitude towards life.

This year, the project has recruited about 60 police volunteers. They are praiseworthy for dedicating their time and efforts to assist young people in addition to their daily work. The slogan for the year is "the Path of Growth", implying that police volunteers will get together with young people to create a better tomorrow.
