Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) partnered with Hong Kong Taoist Association the Yuen Yuen Institute No.3 Secondary School and "InspiringHK Sports Foundation" to offer free swimming classes for the first time for 16 Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) girls, for a period of two years from July 10.

As the NEC girls have difficulties in attending regular swimming lessons with other classmates due to various reasons, KTDIST solicited the support of some stakeholders, benefactors and sports institutions to provide long-sleeved swimming suits and the equipment, arrange a separate swimming pool and commission two female coaches for these girls to attend swimming lessons.

At the kick-off event, Acting KTDIST Commander Chung Wing-man said that they hope the NEC participants will acquire swimming skills and develop sportsmanship through the course.
