The Consul-General of Australia to Hong Kong and Macau, Mr Paul Tighe, paid a farewell courtesy call on Commissioner Lo Wai-chung on September 27 prior to his return to Australia in October.

After Mr Tighe took up the post in Hong Kong in 2011, the Hong Kong Police Force and various organisations in Australia had entered into a number of agreements. Besides, the Force and the Australian Federal Police have been working closely in community policing, intelligence exchange, combating cross-jurisdictional crimes and organising training programmes and exchange activities.

Mr Lo thanked Mr Tighe for his contribution in forging close ties between the Australian Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Force. He hoped his successor would continue to strengthen the partnership of the two sides. In response, Mr Tighe stressed the significance of working hand-in-hand to fight against international crimes while wishing the Force continued success in the days ahead.
