The Education Bureau (EDB) presented a Certificate of Commendation to the Police College in appreciation of its efforts in supporting and making contribution to the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF). On behalf of the Force, Director of the Police College Lau Chi-wai received the certificate from Acting Secretary for Education Mr Yeung Yun-hung on November 29.

EDB praised the College for its outstanding achievements in adopting the QF in human resources development as well as its commitment to grooming officers into police professionals. Simultaneously, the College has reached articulation arrangement with local and overseas tertiary institutions for officers' continuous education and lifelong learning.

The College was the first training organisation amongst the disciplined services and government departments to acquire an accreditation status to operate professional training programmes under the seven-tiered QF at Level 4 and Level 5. In January 2016, the College further accredited its detective training programmes and workplace learning practices for frontline crime officers.

The College will continue enhancing the quality of its training programmes with a view to equipping officers with the highest level of professional capability and integrity.
