Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Chung Siu-yeung hosted the 12th Crime Wing Liaison Gathering at the Police Headquarters on November 25 to strengthen friendship of Crime Wing officers with their strategic partners. The Crime Wing also took this opportunity to express thanks to these partners for their continued support to the Force in combatting crime.


Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Lau Yip-shing and Director of Crime and Security Au Chi-kwong also joined the gathering to express their gratitude to the guests. The event drew a record number of over 800 participants, including representatives of Mainland, Macao and overseas law enforcement agencies, local consular corps and other government departments as well as stakeholders of the private sector.


Speaking at the gathering, Mr Chung remarked that Hong Kong remains one of the safest cities in the world, with the current overall crime rate having dropped to its lowest level since 1979. On behalf of the Force senior management, Mr Chung conveyed appreciation to Crime Wing officers for another year of outstanding performance.
