A total of 88 incumbent and retired officers, their family members and officers of other disciplined forces took part in the 39th Police Mountain Marathon, which was organised by the Police Adventure Club (PAC) on Lantau Island on November 26 and 27. The event coincided with the 40th anniversary of the PAC.

The mountaineering race, which comprised the categories of open, senior, female and novice, covered a track ranging from 42 to 50 kilometres. The participants set off at the Lantau District Headquarters (LTDIST HQ) in Tung Chung and carried all the necessary camping equipment and food across the Sunset Peak and Lantau Peak to reach a campsite in Tai O, where they took an overnight rest. On the next day, the participants set off again with a target to reach the destination at LTDIST HQ. LTDIST Commander Lee Nga-lai and Honorary Vice-chairman of PAC Zai Tah-lam presented prizes to the winners.
