Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) launched an initiative named "African Translink" on January 1 to provide interpretation services in 12 African languages for handling public enquiries. With the assistance of 12 African volunteers, the service is available from 10am to 8pm every day (except public holidays).

Earlier on December 20, YTDIST Deputy Commander Kerry Carew and Assistant Divisional Commander (Administration) of Yaumatei Division Jonas Kwong, together with African community leaders, distributed leaflets to promote the "African Translink" to the African groups at Chungking Mansions and Temple Street.
