The Dowman Road Race 2017 took place at Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung on February 4, with about 1 900 regular, auxiliary and civilian staff from the Force and over 80 runners from other disciplined services competing in the event. The Police Athletics Club (PAC) invited Commissioner Lo Wai-chung to present trophies to the winners.


The championship of men's and women's open groups went to Police Constable (PC) Tsim Hoi-kin of the Police Tactical Unit Headquarters (PTU HQ) and PC (Auxiliary) Kong Lai-ming of Mong Kok District respectively. PTU HQ captured the first place in the Specialist Team Relay again, with all six team members completing the race within 47 minutes. Kwai Tsing District and the Police College won the Formations Relay and Ladies Relay respectively.


The Chairman of the PAC, Mr Kwok Ho-fai, thanked all the volunteers, including the Physical Training Instructors from the Police College and helpers from the Police Football Referee Club, Auxiliary Medical Service and Hong Kong Adventure Corps, for their assistance in the race.
