Ma On Shan Division (MOSDIV) gave a briefing on telephone deception and crime prevention at the Spring Reception of the Chinese Students and Scholars Associations (CSSAs) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on January 16 in collaboration with the Police Community Relations Offices of Shatin District (STDIST) and Western District, Crime Prevention Bureau, Regional Crime Prevention Offices of New Territories South and Kowloon East, and District Intelligence Squad of STDIST.


Speaking to over 200 Mainland scholars and exchange students from six local universities, Inspector Tang Ching-pan and Police Constable Lam Foon-foon from MOSDIV cited some recent cases to illustrate telephone deception tricks concerning Mainland students and, most importantly, gave crime prevention advice to raise the attendees' alertness. The chairpersons of the CSSAs of the six universities were also urged to disseminate fight crime message to other members of their associations.
