The 2016 Security Services Best Training Award Presentation Ceremony took place at the Police Headquarters on March 1, drawing an attendance of over 250 guests including representatives of the security sector and various police regions.

The annual event has been co-organised by the Crime Prevention Bureau (CPB) and the Vocational Training Council (VTC) since 2010. This year, a total of 81 awards were given to security companies, among which 47 were presented with the Gold Award, 20 with the Silver Award, eight with the Bronze Award and six with the Merit Award.

Officiating at the ceremony were Assistant Commissioner (Support) Patrick Hodson, Chairlady of the Security Services Training Board of VTC Ms Jane Curzon Lo, Senior Assistant Executive Director of VTC Mrs Deanna To and Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority (SGSIA) Mr Daniel Cham.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Hodson praised the awardees for actively developing training programmes continuously to strengthen their security personnel's competence and efficiency, and assisted the Force to fight crime.

The adjudicators, including representatives from the Force, VTC and SGSIA, assessed the participating companies' training investment, for example the number of training hours, the number of trainees, the scope of training courses and the support offered by the management to training programmes.
