Deputy Director-General of the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department (GDPSD) Mr Lu Feng led a five-member delegation to pay a courtesy call on Acting Director of Crime and Security (D C&S) Chung Siu-yeung on February 28.

During their discussion on the strategies for curbing cross-boundary crimes, Mr Lu and Mr Chung acknowledged that the GDPSD and the Hong Kong Police Force had achieved fruitful outcomes in various aspects of co-operation. Quoting Operation THUNDERBOLT as an example, the GDPSD, the Force and Macao Police had been effective in combatting triads as well as syndicated and organised crimes, interdicting the source of their illegal income, and creating a stable environment in the three places. Thus, Mr Lu and Mr Chung reiterated that close collaboration between GD and Hong Kong is crucial for the prevention and tackling of cross-boundary crimes.
