Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST) Commander Wong Kwong-hing presented letters of appointment to 33 new Honorary Presidents of SMPDIST Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary Presidents Council at an inauguration ceremony on February 8. About 300 guests from Kwun Tong and Kowloon City District Councils, the related District Fight Crime Committees (DFCCs), local community groups, non-governmental organisations and government departments attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the importance of youth development, Mr Wong expressed gratitude to members of the SMPDIST JPC Honorary Presidents Council for their inspiration to the young generation. He also thanked other community leaders and the local groups for their support to SMPDIST.

Meanwhile, 18 outstanding officers were presented with a commendation award under SMPDIST Outstanding Police Officer Award Scheme 2016, which was jointly organised by Sau Mau Ping and Kwun Tong DFCCs and was sponsored by the Kwun Tong District Council. The commendation helped to enhance the relationship between the Force and the community, and boosted the morale of officers.
