The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) continued to promote Project Cyber Defender with a view to enhancing the capability of critical infrastructure operators, practitioners of different industries and the public to tackle evolving cyber threats.

Project Cyber Defender has been offering comprehensive network protection, cyber security assessment and education to different target groups since its inception in 2015. Through its slogan "Cyber Defender - Be Your Own Doctor", the project encourages all individuals to be their own internet security doctors to conduct cyber security self-assessment. As cyber terrorism is a matter of concern for the Force, CSTCB officers also make use of the project to raise the target groups' awareness of cyber terrorism and to increase their resilience to cyber attacks.

In this regard, CSTCB collaborated with various stakeholders to organise a number of cyber security events, such as the international Cyber Security Summit 2016, the first Cyber Security Professionals Awards, a large-scale cyber security drill for government departments and the first Cyber Security Competition 2016 for teenagers. The project gained positive feedback from the participants and has been widely reported by local media.
