Commissioner Lo Wai-chung recently met two consular chiefs, Head of the European Union (EU) Office to Hong Kong and Macao Ms Carmen Cano and Australia's Consul-General to Hong Kong Ms Michaela Browning, at the Police Headquarters.


Ms Cano called on Mr Lo on May 29, during which they discussed a wide range of policing issues including the local crime trend and major challenges for the Force. Ms Cano praised the Force for its efforts in maintaining law and order to ensure stability and prosperity in the city. The meeting laid a solid foundation for closer co-operation between the EU and Hong Kong.


Meanwhile, Ms Browning paid a courtesy call on Mr Lo on June 2 after her assumption of office in Hong Kong. They discussed topics of mutual concern, in particular strategies to combat international crime and terrorism. Both sides expressed a strong desire to foster a closer partnership between the Force and the Australian Federal Police.


Mr Lo took the opportunities to welcome Ms Cano and Ms Browning to Hong Kong, and extended his gratitude for their support to the Force.
