With an aim to enhancing public awareness of cyber security and the threats imposed by botnets, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) kicked off the Cyber Security Campaign 2017 on June 21. The year-long campaign has drawn the support of three internationally renowned anti-virus solution providers and a number of public and private organisations.

The Force will carry out a series of publicity and education activities for the public, in particular youngsters, in a bid to reduce significantly the number of botnet-infected computers in the city and to diminish cyber threats against the local critical infrastructure, organisations and the public.

The three anti-virus solution providers have agreed to provide free malware cleaning and removal tools for the campaign. The public can download, scan and clean their computers, if infected. For details, please visit www.cybersecuritycampaign.com.hk.
