The Road Safety Team of Traffic New Territories North (T NTN) commended a number of Model Student Pedestrians in May and June in conjunction with the commanding officers of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (New Territories North Region), Chairmen or Vice Chairmen of the Traffic and Transport Committees of various District Councils, officers of the Police Community Relations Offices and Senior Police Call members across the Region.

They selected students who used pedestrian crossing facilities correctly in various NTN Districts as Model Student Pedestrians. Each of them was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and a souvenir on the spot. The publicity campaign motivated students to bring road safety messages to their schoolmates with a view to achieving the goal of Zero Accidents on the Road.

Meanwhile, the Road Safety Team of T NTN visited a number of post offices in the Region in June to disseminate safe driving messages to over 100 postal workers, including postal vehicle drivers and cycling postmen. Leaflets were given out to the postal workers to enhance their awareness of the safety of all road users.
