To facilitate officers to access their official e-mail accounts, the Information Systems Wing (ISW) has enhanced the Hong Kong Police (HKP) unclassified e-mail system in July for regular Junior Police Officers (JPOs) and auxiliary personnel ranking from JPO to Superintendent. Apart from logging in the e-mail system via Departmental Portal or Police Intranet (POINT) through the Force terminals, officers can now check their e-mail account via POINT From Home by their personal desktop computers, and via Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) by their personal mobile devices such as mobile phones.

Through the enhanced system, officers would receive unclassified daily messages posted on the Force NoticeBoard, such as employees' benefits, training courses and job vacancies. Furthermore, course enrolment and endorsement messages can be received via the system, too.

This system not only provides a communication platform for supervisors and JPOs particularly those who need to work on shift or outdoors, but also offers an extra means of contact with JPOs for the Psychological Services Group, Training and Staff Relations Officers and the Junior Police Officers' Association. Officers can also create e-mail groups for easy communication with various teams such as police sports and arts clubs.

Officers who have registered as BYOD users and have completed an easy one-off installation could enjoy the enhanced service. For a login guide and quick installation, please refer to the HKP e-mail (unclassified) Hexagon on POINT or the following website:

Another enhancement to the Force NoticeBoard was the introduction of an integrated interface, which avoids duplicating the same message on Force NoticeBoard to users of the Police E-mail Network and Mobile Workplace Services. And with a further enhancement to the uploading template of the Force NoticeBoard, Policy Wings may publish their unclassified messages to about 28 000 HKP e-mail (unclassified) users via the e-mail system and POINT From Home.

All these enhancements facilitate officers to access timely information of the Force so as to optimise policing services for the public.
