Regional Commander of New Territories North (NTN) Kwok Ho-fai, together with Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong Mr Abdul Qadir Memon and about 1 000 Pakistani, attended a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the independence of Pakistan, organised by the Hong Kong Youth Betterment Association in Yuen Long on August 14.


Chairman of the association Mr Jameel Hussain introduced the history and culture of Pakistan to Mr Kwok. On the other hand, the Junior Police Call of Yuen Long District set up a booth in the activity to promote Project Himalaya to Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) youngsters and spread fight crime message to the community.


Meanwhile, Wanchai District (WCHDIST) invited several NEC leaders, namely Sikh leaders Mr Gurmel Singh and Mr Surjan Singh as well as Imam Uthman Yang of the Islamic Union of Hong Kong, to speak at sharing sessions during the District Training Days. The NEC leaders explained their social, cultural and religious norms and taboos to some frontline officers.


Commander of WCHDIST Kan Kai-yan presented plaques to the NEC leaders as a token of appreciation for their sharing.
