The Road Safety Workshop cum Best Bus Captain Presentation Ceremony 2017 was co-organised by the Road Safety Unit of New Territories South (NTS) and the MTR Corporation on July 28 with an aim to fostering communication with the transport operators and raising bus drivers' awareness on safe driving.


Officiating at the event were Senior Superintendent of Traffic NTS Michael Armstrong and Senior Training Manager of the MTR Corporation Mr Kwan Wai-lun. Mr Armstrong stressed in his speech that it is very important for drivers to keep good driving manner. He also encouraged the bus management to install cameras on buses to take traffic video footages to safeguard the interests of drivers and to assist the Force in the investigation of traffic accidents.


Senior managerial staff, training instructors and bus captains of seven bus companies were invited to join the workshop, which featured videos on bus accidents, sharing sessions on road safety and group discussions. Twelve bus captains from different companies were awarded with the honour of the Best Bus Captain. Traffic officers from NTS would continue to work with the transport industry to do their best in maintaining road safety.
