At the invitation of the Security Wing and the Police College, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Social Science of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Professor Shen Xu-hui spoke on the topic of "Era of Anti-Terrorism and its Implication on Hong Kong" at a seminar of the Management Development Programme at the Police Headquarters on August 25.


Graduated from the University of Oxford and Yale University, Professor Shen is one of the few scholars in Hong Kong with profound knowledge in international relations and terrorism-related studies. He shared with the audience his insights on the development of global terrorism in the 21st century and the spread of terrorism in Southeast Asia and the Mainland. He also gave his views on the implications of terrorism to Hong Kong and the challenges of counter terrorism.


The informative and thought-provoking seminar attracted over 100 officers of inspectorate rank or above, officers from other law enforcement agencies and members of the Counter Terrorism Emergency Coordination Team.
