In response to an upsurge of motorcycles parking and travelling in Central District (CDIST) for food delivery services, CDIST invited over 20 managers and couriers of food delivery companies to attend a seminar on traffic management and road safety at the Central Police Station on July 25.

Led by Acting Commander of CDIST Lau Mei-yam, officers of the Police Community Relations Office and District Traffic Team of CDIST as well as Traffic Hong Kong Island briefed the participants on local black spots for traffic accidents and street obstruction as well as community concerns on road management in connection with courier motorcycles. They also reminded them of the possible traffic offences. Other participants included a Central and Western District Councillor and representatives from the Central and Western District Office.

All parties discussed ways to maintain a smooth traffic flow and reduce nuisances to residents during the couriers' business hours. CDIST would continue to enhance co-operation with the relevant stakeholders to effectively and promptly address the community's concerns about policing issues.
