To promote ethnic inclusiveness with Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) youngsters, Tuen Mun District (TMDIST) invited both local and NEC youngsters from four secondary schools to take part in TMDIST Fight Crime Ethnic Harmony Basketball Games at Chu Hai College on August 19. The basketball teams of the Force and Fire Services Department (FSD) played an exhibition game for the event.

The four schools concerned were Ho Ngai College (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen), Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Tuen Mun), Chung Sing Benevolent Society Mrs Aw Boon Haw Secondary School and CMA Choi Cheung Kok Secondary School. Officiating at the kick-off ceremony was TMDIST Commander Mak Wai-man. The Divisional Officer (New Territories West) of the FSD, Mr Leung Tai-wai; the Principal of CMA Choi Cheung Kok Secondary School, Mr Lai Chu-kuen; a representative of Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Tuen Mun), Ms Chow Ying; and TMDIST Fight Crime Ambassadors Mr Adeel Malik and Mr Mohammed Zahid attended the event to show their support.

The event enabled officers to get close contact with the young players in a bid to encourage them to fight crime together with the Force, prevent the youngsters from falling prey to culprits, and advise them to develop a healthy life.
