To mark the successful conclusion of the Summer Job Attachment of the Police Mentorship Programme (PMP) 2017/18, over 110 participants including mentors, mentees and project officers attended a prize presentation ceremony of the job attachment at the Police Headquarters on October 4.

This year, a total of 200 mentees were attached to various police formations to participate in 149 projects, showing a rise of 48 per cent in the number of mentees and the popularity of the attachment scheme. The projects covered thematic research, event planning and information technology related work. Each mentee had submitted a report on their attachment to an adjudicating panel, comprising mentors from 11 tertiary institutes, for shortlisting 10 outstanding reports.

The top three mentees were invited to present their projects in the presentation ceremony, with Head Mentor cum Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Siu Chak-yee, Deputy Head Mentor cum Deputy Director 1 of the Police College Chan Man-tak and Chief Superintendent of the Human Resources Branch Lee Kwok-chung selecting the winners of the gold, silver and bronze awards.

The mentees said they benefited from a range of familiarisation activities such as Traffic Accident Investigation Workshops and visits to the Police College and police stations. With the commencement of enrolment for the PMP 2018/19, interested students of the 11 tertiary institutes are welcome to apply at their respective Student Affairs Office.
