In view of the inauguration of the Hong Kong Premier League for 2017-18, Mong Kok District (MKDIST) set up a Football Duty Cadre to enhance crowd management of football matches at Mong Kok Stadium.

Comprising 41 officers from different patrol squads, the Football Duty Cadre conducted a thematic training on August 24, during which a workshop was hosted by a senior staff member of the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA). The training strengthened the officers' co-ordination capacity to cope with contingencies at the stadium, and boosted communication between the cadre and the HKFA in managing football matches.
